From Boston area via Route 24 South:
  • Get on Route 24 South (toward Brockton, MA and Fall River, MA).
  • As you enter Fall River, you will come to a fork in the highway; New Bedford will be to the left, and Fall River to the right. BEAR RIGHT at this split, toward
  • Fall River, and merge onto Route I-195 West.
  • Stay in the right lane on I-195W for approximately ½ mile.
  • Take Exit 8A (the first exit you will encounter) onto Route 24 South (toward Tiverton, RI and Newport, RI).
  • Stay on Route 24 South for approximately 9 miles. (You will pass over the Tiverton/Sakonnet River Bridge).
  • Take Exit 1 toward Route 138 South (Middletown and Newport Beaches).
  • At the bottom of the exit ramp, take a right onto Turnpike Avenue.
  • Proceed on Turnpike Ave for approximately .7 miles until you come to a traffic light (CVS drugstore on your right). Bear right at the traffic light onto Route 138 South (known locally as East Main Road).
  • Continue on East Main Road for 6.4 miles, traveling through Portsmouth, RI and into Middletown, RI until you come to a traffic light at the intersection of Valley Road and East Main Road. (There will be a Wendy’s restaurant on your left.) Take a left onto Valley Road.
  • Continue on Valley Road for .9 miles until you come to a traffic light. Proceed through the light.
  • You will see the John Clarke Retirement Home on your left; immediately following, take a left at the sign for the Aquidneck Corporate Park, onto Johnnycake Hill Road.
  • Take your first right onto John Clarke Road; proceed until the stop sign. At the stop sign (Silva Lane) take a left. Then take a right onto Jacome Way (SAIC will be on your left). Continue to proceed to the first parking lot located on the left before the Blackstone Catering sign. SAIC visitor parking is located in this lot. Take a left into the parking lot and we are the 2nd half of the SAIC building. Our sign is out in front of our building.

From Cape Cod area via Route 24 South
  • Take Route I-195W toward Fall River, MA.
  • Take Exit 8A onto Route 24 South (toward Tiverton, RI and Newport, RI).
  • Stay on Route 24 South for approximately 9 miles. (You will pass over the Tiverton/Sakonnet River Bridge).
  • Take Exit 1 toward Route 138 South (Middletown and Newport Beaches).

From Newport (Pell) Bridge
  • Go across the Newport/Claiborne Pell Bridge (This is a toll bridge $4.00).
  • Take the bridge to the very end (Do not get off at the first “Scenic Newport” exit; follow the sign to Fall River/Cape Cod).
  • At the end of the ramp, take a LEFT at the traffic light (“Newport Grand” will be across the street from this light).
  • Go straight on this road and continue for 1.2 miles. (You will encounter 3 traffic lights and 2 stop signs along this road).
  • At the THIRD traffic light, take a right on to Valley Road.
  • You will see the John Clarke Retirement Home on your left; immediately following, take a left at the sign for the Aquidneck Corporate Park, onto Johnnycake Hill Road.
  • Take your first right onto John Clarke Road; proceed until the stop sign. At the stop sign (Silva Lane) take a left. Then take a right onto Jacome Way (SAIC will be on your left). Continue to proceed to the first parking lot located on the left before the Blackstone Catering sign. SAIC visitor parking is located in this lot. Take a left into the parking lot and we are the 2nd half of the SAIC building. Our sign is out in front of our building.

From NJ, NY and CT areas via Route I-95 North
  • Driving time from I-95N Exit 3A: approx. 40-45 minutes Driving distance from I-95N Exit 3A: approx. 27 miles
  • From I-95 North, take EXIT 3A (toward Kingston, RI & Newport RI).
  • Take a right at the end of the exit ramp onto RI-138 East. In approximately 2 miles, you will approach a fork in the road; BEAR LEFT at this fork to continue traveling on RI-138 East.
  • You will pass the University of Rhode Island and the town of Kingston as you continue on Route 138E.Approximately 3.6 miles after passing the University, you will reach a traffic light at the intersection of Route 138E and US Route 1. (There will be a Mobil gas station on your right).
  • Take a left onto US-1 North. (This road is also the continuation of RI-138E). Travel for 2.3 miles until the Exit (on your right) for “NEWPORT and JAMESTOWN Bridges” and the continuation of RI-138 East. You will merge directly onto RI-138 East.
  • Continue along Route 138E across the Jamestown/Verrazano Bridge.
  • Continue across the Newport/Claiborne Pell Bridge. (This is a toll bridge $4.00).

From TF Green Airport
  • From Airport, take I-95 South toward New York.
  • After passing the signs for Warwick, RI, get into either of left two lanes.
  • Take Exit # 9 (exit is on LEFT) on to RI Route 4 South (toward Newport).
    In approximately 8 miles, you will come to a stretch of Route 4 with traffic lights, and then Rte 4 will curve to the right and join Route 1 South.
  • Stay in the right lane and take your first exit on to RI Route 138 East toward Jamestown & Newport Bridges.
  • Go across the Jamestown/Verrazano Bridge.
  • Go across the Newport/Claiborne Pell Bridge. (This is a toll bridge $4.00).
